Ted Ligety of the United States rallied to win the final World Cup giant slalom of the 2007-08 season and capture the discipline title. Ligety moved from seventh to first in a blazing second run to beat Benjamin Raich of Austria, his nearest challenger for the giant slalom title, by 0.31 seconds.

Ted Ligety of the United States rallied to win the final World Cup giant slalom of the 2007-08 season and capture the discipline title. Ligety moved from seventh to first in a blazing second run to beat Benjamin Raich of Austria, his nearest challenger for the giant slalom title, by 0.31 seconds.
As you watch the video, notice how Ligety maintains a strong athletic stance throughout the entire run. His hands are driving forward and he has good extension in his hips as he transitions between each turn. Notice how he is not skiing straight at each gate. He chose a great line for this course, making nice round turns while still staying tight to the gate.
